活動報告（協働）

6月27日（月）、30（木）文教キャンパス内にあるやってみゅーでスクで、「ハトさんゆうびんワークショップ」が開催され、GPの学生も参加しました。

１４時から１７時の間で好きな時間に参加できる活動になります。長崎と広島に展示されていた折鶴を使用した再生紙で作られたカードに、自由に平和へのメッセージを描く活動です。

世界では、大きな戦争だけでなく、紛争や貧困、多くの問題が溢れています。

長崎でも8月にかけて、平和について考える機会が多いかと思います。

私達にとって「平和」とは何か考え、自分の思う「平和」を表現をする活動となりました。

　The volunteer work’ peace messenger’ was held at Yattemyu desk on Bunkyo campus. Some students from GP participated in this program.

Any time from 14:00 to 17:00, anyone could make peace message. The cards were made from orizuru which was used in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Now, there are so many serious problems around us, not only wars, conflicts, poverty, and so on. In Nagasaki, we have events to think of peace in August. Let’s think about ‘peace’, and express our peace on message cards.

 5月29日、伊王島朝市が行われ、GPからは二人の留学生が日本人学生たちと一緒にボランティアとして参加しました。

朝早くから慣れないフェリーに乗り、チケットの買い方など、戸惑うこともあったようですが、日本人学生と一緒に無事まずは伊王島に到着しました！

多くの人々が訪れる中、子どもの遊び場、設営、運営、片付けと忙しい中、幅広い仕事をしっかりと果たしていました。

また留学生にとって、いりこを詰める体験など、日本独特な活動も刺激的だったそうです。

参加のきっかけは日本の地方文化に興味があったことで、感想としては日本人と交流できる機会ができて良かったとのことでした。そして是非、皆さんにこの活動を知って欲しいという嬉しい声も聴くことができました。

お昼にボランティアのスタッフには、お昼は新鮮なカマスの名産フライと刺身丼がふるまわれました。

良いお天気の元、漁港で開放的な海風が吹き抜ける中、有意義な経験と時間を過ごしたことでしょう。

At Iojima island, one of the secret beaches in Nagasaki, “Iojima　morning market” was held on May 29th.

2 international students from GP embarked on a ferry heading Iojima island early in the morning. It was first time for them to get on Japanese ferry, and they finally arrive at Iojima with other Japanese students.

Besides so many visitors came to this market, they work so hard. 

Volunteer students had played active roles helping and assisting attractions and events to run smoothly utilizing their youthful spirits.  They were provided fresh flied fish and row fish on top of the rice with soy source and seaweed.

One international student told me that he is interested in Japanese local culture, so he decided to join to this volunteer work. He enjoyed to touch local food and people, and hoped to share this activity with other students. 

They had valuable time and experience with beautiful weather on the port.

県下のコロナ感染状況が改善されたことをうけ、長く休止されていた長崎大学学生ボランティア支援プログラム『やってみゅーデスク』による対面でのボランティア活動が久しぶりに行われました。その第一弾は、伊王島の海浜清掃。GPからは2人の日本人学生が意気軒高に参加しました。

梅雨の最中でもあったのでお天気が心配されましたが、時折雨粒が少し落ちる程度で済みました。日差しが少ないぶん、むしろ屋外活動しやすい日和になったそうです。

コロナ感染拡大防止のために様々な規制のもとでの活動ではありましたが、学部や大学を越えて、地元の方とも交流しながら、自然の中で一緒に汗をかく清掃活動は、オンラインでの活動とはまた違った格別な達成感を得る体験になりました。

【参加学生からの感想】

自分が所属している県内外の海岸や海水浴場の清掃活動団体では普段は陸地の清掃をしないので、今回のボランティア活動でそれができてとても新鮮な気持ちになれました。

コロナや災害などで続く暗いニュースの中、長崎の大学生が長崎の地から少しでも世の中を明るく照らし、若者の力で未来を明るくしよう！という目的のもと、長崎県内の学生ボランティアを支援する「やってみゅーでスク」（※１）が企画した「6大学同時開催「キャンドルナイト」～長崎に希望の光を灯そう～」の運営に、GPからは、長崎大学、長崎県立大学、活水女子大学、長崎外国語大学在籍の日本人学生8名と外国人学生１名がボランティアとして参加しました！

当日の模様は、やってみゅーでスクのYoutubeチャンネルで生配信（※２）されたほか、長崎県下６大学それぞれのWebサイトやSNSでも公開されています。ぜひご覧ください！

※１）やってみゅーでスク：ボランティア活動を通して長崎県下６大学の学生と地域をつなぎ、学生の幅広い体験のサポートや地域に貢献できる学生の育成に取り組むプログラム。

9 GP member students from Japan and Egypt enrolled respectively in Nagasaki Uni, University of Nagasaki, Kwassui Women’s Uni, and Nagasaki Uni of Foreign Studies took part in “Candle Night Across Nagasaki” taken place in the evening early October.

This event was organized by GP’s affiliated organization, “Nagasaki University’s Volunteer Support Center -Yattemyu Desk”, and hit a big success with beautifully decorated candles, live piano, and dragon dance. Several universities and colleges in Nagasaki were connected online (ZOOM) and its streaming was aired on Yattemyu’s Youtube channel, so that you could now enjoy!

・It was fun event and I am glad I participated with very kind and helpful members from students or university staff. I liked the idea of the event for raising the morale and giving hope after a tough year for everyone. (Egyptian student／Nagasaki Uni)

毎月、Vファーレン長崎のホームゲームに携わるさまざまな業務を手伝う「Vファーレン長崎スタッフボランティア」というお馴染みの活動。

2月23日は、2020年開幕戦でした。新型コロナウイルス感染拡大が懸念される中での日程だったため、観客、ボランティアともに「開催されるのかな…」と不安に思いながら当日を迎えましたが、無事に予定どおり開催されました。

もちろん例年とは違って、来場サポーターの皆さんにアルコール消毒をしてもらうブースも設置。ボランティアの学生たちは、全員マスク着用で感染拡大予防に徹して、それぞれの仕事をこなしました。いつもと少し違った物々しい雰囲気が心配されましたが、前月、長崎市内で開催されたランタンフェスティバルを来場者の皆さんに諫早のホームスタジアムでも疑似体験してもらおうと、スタジアムのあちこちにランタンを飾るなどして、明るく演出。そのお手伝いもさせてもらいました。開幕ホーム戦にふさわしい良好な天気の中、我らVファーレン長崎は見事に勝利を収めて終了。Vファーレンが新型コロナウイルスに負けず、次回の試合以降も勝ち星をあげていけるよう、シーズン2020もGPは学生ボランティアとしてたくさん活動・応援していきます！

Here in Nagasaki, we have a professional soccer team called "V-VAREN NAGASAKI" and it is one of vigorous teams of Japan League (J-2). 

When it takes on its rival teams on its home field, Isahaya stadium, such as once or twice in a month, it calls for many home game volunteers to successfully run games. Participant students usually join in task force such as logistics, trash collecting, set-up/breakdown, greeting stations, and so forth.

At the end of February, the memorable opening match for V Varen Nagasaki was successfully carried out at its home stadium amid the novel coronavirus crisis throughout the nation. Given all the serious coronavirus situation, there established many disinfection stands where visitors and supporters could be sprayed with alcohol, and some of our GP member volunteers played this important role as a duty. On the brighter side, in order to make happen one of top highlighting attractions, “mini lantern festival at V Varen Stadium,” other GP volunteers sweated hanging lanterns all over the site. 

V Varen scored 1-0 victory over Tochigi SC as if all the powerful players of Nagasakites after all and everyone felt its passion and momentum to keep winning by overcoming all the difficulties!!

２月23日、長崎大学が受託・実施するJICA研修「橋梁維持管理」に参加中の海外研修員17名が長崎市内を観光するにあたって、同大の学生にボランティアガイドの依頼があり、GPからも日本人と留学生あわせて５名が参加、活躍しました。

まず前日に、同ボランティア学生が研修生に当日の観光ルートについて簡単に紹介するブリーフィングが行われ、学生たちは研修生が橋梁・インフラの専門家であることを考慮して、長崎市内のインフラも見て回れるような観光ルートを企画し、プレゼンする等、事前に研修員の心を掴んだようです。

そして、当日、研修員は３つのグループにわけられ、いざ出発。GPからの参加女子学生（日本人）は、普段も「長崎をたくさんの人に知ってもらいたい」と、長崎の道案内をするボランティア活動を自主的に行っており、そこで育んだ『おもてなし』の心とスキルを存分に生かすことできました。入念に準備してきたことと、自分も長崎大学の工学部で学んできた4年間の知識を総動員して英語で案内し、研修員からの質問にも対応。

研修員からは、長崎の美しい街だけでなく、現地の学生が一生懸命ガイドしてくれたことや学生との交流が印象的で思い出に残ったという声をいただきました。

Despite the COVID-19 outbreak, in the end of February, 17 engineers from 17 countries made a tour of bridges in Nagasaki to study how to inspect and repair bridges through lectures and training courses organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which outsourced the training to Nagasaki University.

During the training, as a part of their experiencing Japanese culture sessions, strolling Nagasaki downtown excursion was designed and carried out. Prior to this, the trainees’ host, JICA and Nagasaki Uni asked the relevant departments, and GP could successfully send 5 volunteers including Japanese and international fellows. 

One of them, a female Japanese student who spent most of her time in juggling manything like studying, volunteering works, and GP activities, played a wondrous role by mobilizing all her knowledges of engineering she accumulated through her academic life at the engineer faculty and leadership she nurtured from various extracurricular programs.

Eventually, the JICA trainees gave a big applause to her and all the other member volunteer students thanking to their big effort. And their feedback concluded as; “Volunteer students’ hospitality was amazing,” “I was so touched not only by the beautiful and neat environment in Nagasaki but also interacting with local students,” and such.

昨年度に続き、今年も野母崎中学校での授業にボランティアで参加しました。

初めて野母崎へ訪れる留学生たちは、「夫婦岩」や「軍艦島」、きれいな海など素晴らしい景色に感動しながら野母崎中学校へ向かいました。

中学校に着くと、校長先生をはじめ先生方や児童生徒のみなさんが温かく迎えてくださり、校内見学をしながら児童生徒のみなさんと早速打ち解けることができました。

授業はまず中学生の英語の歌でスタート！「パプリカ」を英語で元気に歌ってくれました。その後、グループに分かれて「福笑い」でアイスブレーキング。「Right！Right！Down！Okay!!」と英語で目や口の位置を教え合いながらワイワイ盛り上がり、その後の自己紹介でも自分の好きな食べ物や夢の話を英語で伝えてくれました。留学生からの英語での質問に、途中上手くコミュニケーションがとれないこともありましたが、そんなときにはジェスチャーも使いながら一生懸命伝えようとする中学生の姿が印象的でした。

お互いに十分仲良くなったところで、野母崎中学校の生徒自慢の野母崎紹介が行われました。事前に授業で調べたりまとめたりした野母崎地区の観光名所や食べ物などについて、フリップを使いながら英語や日本語で紹介をしてくれました。

留学生は中学生の説明を聞きながら、「場所はどこですか？」「どんな魚が釣れますか？」などたくさんの質問をして、野母崎のまつりや歴史、自慢のレストランなど多くのことを教えてもらいました。

2時間ほどの活動でしたが、留学生、中学生ともに「もっと知りたい！もっと話したい！」という気持ちは高まったようで、別れを惜しみながら中学校をあとにしました。

昨年に続き今年も実現したこの活動を通して、それぞれの語学に対する学習意欲や異文化への理解が高まることを願っています。

野母崎中学校のみなさん、お世話になりました！！

By popular demand by Nomozaki junior high school which held the exchange meet-up gathering for its students and Nagasaki Uni’s international fellows last year, the junior high school willingly invited some this year again!!

GP deployed 4 international members to this initiative, consisting of various backgrounds such as Algeria, China, Nigeria, and Zambia. Since this was the first time for most of this delegate member to trip far down of Nagasaki peninsula, as reaching to south on the way to Nomozaki, they enjoyed the scenery of coastal area and got excited to see “Meoto-iwa (Married Couple Rocks)” and “Gunkanjima (Battleship Island).” As an aside, the weather was perfectly on their side, so about an one hour single trip drive itself was quite like a fun hung out.

Upon arrival, the school principal and many teachers extended a warm welcome to volunteer students and the vice-principal even took them around the brief school trip where pupils ran up exclaiming in delight to the volunteers.

The interacting session then started right away after the volunteer delegate entered in the venue and then followed many attractions filled with pupil’s ideas and hospitality; a welcome song to reacquaint with each other, “Fukuwarai” game which is a traditional Japanese game as an icebreaker, self-introduction, and pupils’ presentations on Nomozaki. As far as today’s youngsters including volunteer fellows are tech-savvy, they took good advantage of using i-pads for further understanding of each other’s culture. 

Two-hour class flew so fast but we had to say good-bye. 

While being hard to farewell for both pupils and volunteer students (and teachers as well!), they called it a day, wishing to see again not before too long.

活動はとてもおもしろくてワクワクするものでしたし、生徒たちの積極的な姿勢には感動しました。生徒のなかでも、台本を見ずに自信をもって、ときにアドリブをきかせながら英語で話す子もいれば、恥ずかし気に、でも頑張って話す子もいました。（ザンビア人男子学生）／The experience was awesome and refreshing. The pupils were so impressing to interact with. I could see some very confident, talked freely without looking at scripts while others were timid. (Zambian male student)

新型コロナウイルスの影響にも負けず、長崎の一大イベント、ランタンフェスティバルが盛況のうちに幕を閉じました。同フェスティバルでは、長崎青年会議所が実施する「手作りランタン体験コーナー」という体験型イベントが各週末に開催されていましたが、今年度はGPからも2名のミャンマー人留学生メンバーが同イベントのお手伝いとして参加しました！ 

日本人の友達を作って、もっと日本語を話したいという気持ちから参加した同メンバーは来日して1年ですが、長崎大学での普段の工学研究のかたわら日本語の習得にも熱心に取り組んできました。青年会議所の皆さんや、同じくボランティアとして参加した日本人学生、また体験コーナーに立ち寄ってくださった多くの観光客や市民の方との触れ合いを通して、その目的が達成できたと満足気でした。また、この体験コーナーというイベントが、老若男女さまざまな人が楽しめるように運営されていることに、母国ミャンマーには無い新しい発見だったと話してくれました。

Despite the outbreak of the new coronavirus here and there, one of the most attractive features of Nagasaki, “Lantern Festival” went on a high note. 

At the festival, the Junior Chamber International Nagasaki ran “Handmade Paper Lantern Workshop” and two GP member students from Myanmar attended as volunteers to help successfully make this workshop happen! 

These Burmese girls are very enthusiastic about studying Japanese and their motivation to make new friends drove them to participate in this initiative. They were also impressed at how exciting and well-planned this workshop was in the aspect of an event where men and women of all ages can actively participate.
